Update From Mr. Talbert

\r\n

Dear Aviators,

\r\n

Wow, it’s hard to believe we’ve reached the end of week one of our transitions to remote teaching and learning. I want to thank you for working so diligently with your students during this time and for continuing to support our district as we navigate these uncharted waters. This is as new to us as it is for you and we appreciate everything you have done to assist in making this a smooth transition for the students and teachers.

Meals

\r\n

We understand that some families are worried about traveling to and from our serving locations since the Stay-at-Home order has been issued by the Governor. The Stay-at-Home order allows parents and families to pick-up food as long as they take it home. We have communicated with Mayor Andreani and he has the same understanding that our students and families will be able to pick-up food each day without an issue. Parents shouldn’t have to worry about being stopped when they are going to get food for their children.

\r\n

Please remember that meals are available every day from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at all school buildings in the district and at Memorial Park from 11-11:30 am and Maple Beach Park from 11:30 am until noon.

Remote Learning

\r\n

Our remote learning plans are going well and evidence shows that a large majority of our students have signed on and are working towards completing their work. Our technology team is working with our families to solve all technology issues as they arise. We understand connectivity issues continue to be a concern for some and we are working to get wifi to as many people as possible. Due to an increase in demand, receiving hotspots for our district has been challenging. We have placed orders for them, and we are waiting for their arrival. Those who are in need of hot spots will be contacted once our tech department has received them.

\r\n

Please remember to be safe, practice social distancing and stay at home unless you are an essential worker, need to go grocery shopping or need to attend a doctor’s appointment. If we continue to abide by the procedures set in place, we will all be able to stay safe and healthy.

\r\n

We will continue to provide information as it becomes readily available.

\r\n

Sincerely,

\r\n

Jeffery S. Talbert
