STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS: This organization is a scholarship management service and a scholarship database for students. Their database is used to find scholarships online and is 100% free for students to use. Click here to look for scholarships

DISCOVER SCHOLARSHIP SEARCH: Discover's college scholarship search tool gives students fast access to over 3 million scholarships. With this tool, students can customize their scholarship search to meet their unique needs. Discover can even e-mail the student a list of the scholarships to select so they can apply when they are ready. Click here to access the website.

THROCKMORTON SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is for students who met these specific requirements: Student must be African American or Native American and must reside within the Northeast Ohio or Western Pennsylvania geographic region, have a copy of birth certificate, attend an educational facility that must be in Northeastern Ohio or Western Pennsylvania, have a copy of current High School/College grades and GPA, have a current financial needs form from the school that documents grants, scholarships and loans being presently received, have a current bill from the school for the next semester/quarter, have a copy of the courses being taken for the next semester/quarter, write a one or more short paragraphs that should state why you should be considered, your future goals, college major/minor, needs, extracurricular activities at school or in the community, and send in final high school transcript (if applying during senior year of high school). Click here for more info.  Or, email april.m.thomas@huntington.com for questions regarding the scholarship. 

DISTINGUISHED YOUNG WOMEN SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is for any young lady in the class of 2018 who is involved in school and/or community activities, has outstanding in academics, leadership, athletics, or the arts.  Click here for the link to the application.

OHIO UNIVERSITY CHEMICAL ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is available through Ohio University for any student interested in chemical engineering who is an Alliance High School graduate. Requirements include admission to Ohio University and acceptance into the Engineering college. Click here for the website to access the website. Next, on that page, click on the “search for scholarship” link. Then, on that page, type in “Iden” and the scholarship will appear.

MENSA FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: Based on essay contest. Entry form can be found on: Click here for website. Once on the webpage, Click on "Scholarship Application" link on left side of page. Then click "Determine Eligibility and begin process..." Enter zip code which connects to link for our area. DEADLINE: Depends on which scholarships the student is applying for, please check each scholarship and deadline

THE BEAUTY + WELLNESS SCHOLARSHIP: This $1,000 scholarship is to support the health of college women. Requirements: Must be a graduating high school senior, current college undergraduate, or current graduate student at a 4-year, 2-year, vocational, or technical school in the United States, must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, and must identify as female. All majors and GPAs are welcome to apply! Click here for the application. The scholarship will be given out quarterly. Deadlines are January 1, March 31, June 30, and September 30 every year.

HORATIO ALGER SCHOLARSHIPS: These national and state scholarships are based on students pursuing a bachelor's degree, who have at least a 2.0 GPA and who need financial assistance for college. Click here for link

THE ROSE SCHOLARS PROGRAM: The Rose Scholars Program, founded by NBA Star Derrick Rose, offers one scholarship of $200,000 (paid out $25k per semester for 4 years) and two scholarships of up to $20,000. The scholarships are open to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors with at least a 3.0 GPA and a 1230 SAT score and/or a 21 ACT score, who are civically minded and display leadership qualities. TIMKENSTEEL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: TimkenSteel is offering college scholarships to the children of their employees. They are offering one $20,000 renewable scholarship, one $10,000 renewable scholarship, and five $5,000 scholarships. Click here for the application. DEADLINE: Oct 10, 2018

CHILDREN'S DEFENSE FUND-OHIO BEAT THE ODDS SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship program honors outstanding high school students who have overcome tremendous adversity, demonstrated academic excellence and given back to their communities. Annually, CDF-Ohio identifies five Ohio high school students to honor and support by providing each with a $5,000 college scholarship, a laptop computer, an invitation to join CDF’s youth leadership development programs, and other support. Requirements include be a current high school senior in Ohio attending a public, charter or alternative high school, be nominated or seek nomination from a teacher, counselor, caseworker, or other adult who can speak to the student’s challenges; have overcome significant adversity such as, but not limited to, poverty, disability, homelessness or abuse; demonstrate participation in school activities, community organizations, employment and/or community service; and have a current G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher or graduate by July 2019 .Click here for the website and application. OMEGA PSI PHI FRATERNITY, INC. KAPPA TAU CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP: Kappa Tau Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. will award five scholarships to academically talented minority students who have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above and who have participated in a college preparatory program. Candidates must submit a completed application, two letters of recommendation, a picture, a brief autobiography, along with a current high school transcript, and the form to be completed by the counselor. Click here for the application. ACT STUDENT CHAMPION AWARD: ACT recognizes one student in each state who is tenacious and persistent, no matter the challenge, and is prepared for life after high school with a goal in mind and plan in place. ACT Student Champions receive a $500 non-renewable scholarship, certificate, plaque, and state-level recognition. Students in the graduating class of 2019 who have taken the ACT who fit the following criteria should apply: A student who has overcome challenges and can articulate education and career actions, students must have a composite ACT score of a 22 on a single test date or a 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale, and preference will be given to underrepresented and/or first-generation college students. ELKS MOST VALUABLE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP - Based on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Scholarships range from $1,000-$12,500 per year. Download application here. DEADLINE: November 15, 2018

JACK KENT COOKE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP - The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is looking for applicants for their College Scholarship. Requirements include Exceptional academic ability and achievement: Strong academic record, academic awards and honors, and substantive assessments by educators providing confidential recommendations. In addition to GPA and college entrance exam scores, we consider participation in available advanced courses, commitment to learning, and intellectual curiosity; Unmet financial need: Demonstrate unmet financial need/will consider applicants with family income up to $95,000; Persistence: Determination and perseverance in the face of challenges, ability to set and remain focused on goals and to put in the effort needed to meet those goals in the face of obstacles; Leadership: Ability to organize and positively influence others in and out of school (family, religious community, sports, arts, etc.); Service to Others: Purposeful and meaningful commitment to others which may be evidenced by participation in volunteer/community service activities. Click here for the application. UNLIMITED CELLULAR US SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: At Unlimited Cellular, we believe that higher education is essential in the professional development of our younger generation and, as such, we've decided to grant them an alternative funding option, by offering them a chance to win a US $1,800.00 scholarship. To be eligible for this scholarship program, the successful applicant should meet the following criteria: Be a U.S. citizen, be currently enrolled at an accredited U.S. undergraduate or graduate program, be in need of financial support, and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. To apply for our scholarship program, you will need to submit an essay detailing your response to the following questions: "How has your online shopping experience changed over the years?" and why we should grant you this scholarship?” The essay should be at least 400-words long and written in a Word doc. AXA ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP: Applicants need to be current high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college and who demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community or work-related activities. ELKS LEGACY AWARD: This scholarship is open to high school seniors whose parents or grandparents are ELK’s members. DEADLINE: February 1, 2019. Click here for the application.

JACKIE ROBINSON FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: Through its Mentoring and Leadership Development Program, the Jackie Robinson Foundation provides scholarships of up to $30,000 over four years to minority high school students showing leadership potential and demonstrating financial need to attend an accredited 4-year college or university of their choice. Eligibility includes be a graduating high school senior; plan to attend an accredited and approved four-year institution within the United States; show leadership potential; demonstrate a dedication to community service; present evidence of financial need; be a United States citizen; have a minimum SAT score of 1,000 combined on the math and critical reading sections or a composite ACT score of 21; and not possess a degree from a 2 or 4–year College when applying for the scholarship. A-1 TRANSPORT, INC. SCHOLARSHIP: A-1 Auto Transport, Inc. is pleased to announce three scholarships worth $1,000, $500, and $250 will be awarded under the A-1 Auto Transport Scholarship every year. The scholarship will be sent directly to the school/university/college’s financial aid office. Any current, full-time, part-time student of an accredited or non-accredited institute, truck driving school or other logistics program is eligible to apply. Also must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 to become eligible. There is no requirement of minimum age. Click here for the application. DEADLINE: March 10, 2019

CANTON STUDENT LOAN FOUNDATION: The Canton Student Loan Foundation provides low interest student loans to Stark County graduates who have and maintain at least a 2.00 GPA and who are pursuing post high school education or training on a full-time basis. Qualified applicants can borrow each academic year up to a total maximum loan of $12,000. Freshmen can borrow $3,000 per year, sophomores, $4,000 and juniors can receive $6,000 for a maximum of $12,000.
