Aviator Weekly - Nov. 25

Alliance Early Learning School

This week, the theme in Adam De Monte's preschool classroom was bread and butter. They talked about how people can make these foods, and how they are great to share with friends and family. They were fortunate enough to have the students use an antique butter churner to make butter. All of the students participated and were able to try some of their homemade butter on some tasty bread.

The preschool students celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday with special programs for their parents. The students sang songs, danced, recited poems and had fun completing a craft and taking pictures with their parents at the photo booth. What a great way to celebrate.

Second Grade Habitats

\r\n

The second grade students will have their Habitat Projects on display the week of Nov. 25. Students chose a habitat in which they wanted to research and created a diorama model to represent that habitat. The students will present their projects to their classmates and give facts about what they have learned.

Whispermaphones

\r\n

Students in second grade have been practicing their fluency by using whispermaphones. These cool gadgets allow students to hear themselves reading without disturbing their classmates.

Thanksgiving Feast

\r\n

Rockhill and Parkway Elementaries held a Thanksgiving Feast last week. The students performed songs, presented a reader’s theatre, shared their paper turkeys in disguise and told jokes. It was very nice to eat together as a “family.” We are thankful for so many things, but most of all for our health, each other and the ability to learn.

The AHS Media Arts students took part in the annual Aviator Shootout. The students had two days to create a five minute film containing the required prop, dialogue, genre and technique. This year, the winning team consisted of Janel Lilly, Destiny Mozzochi, Maurice Jefferson and Corbyn Lowers with their film “Bad Blood,” an action film about a man’s battle between street life and family life. Eddy Dillon was named the MVP of the shootout for the second year in a row. All the Students did a phenomenal job and showed their creativity and hard work through their films.

Congratulations to the following students for Reppin' That A - Julia Aldea, Brianna Hunt, Onnez Roseboro, Abigail Beltz, Michael Sines, Ki'Aijah Hawkins and Rayahana Collins.
