Juliann Doerschuk, second from left, poses with representatives from the top four schools in the state in the MakerMinded competition.

On Monday evening Juliann (Trevorrow) Doerschuk, the Project Lead the Way teacher at Alliance Middle School, was recognized by MakerMinded for completing the second most qualifying STEM project in the state.

This was the first year for AMS to be a part of the competition which encourages students to use their Science, Technology, Engineering and Math skills in their learning. Through project-based lessons teachers can have their students’ work qualify as a MakerMinded lesson.

Many of the projects Doerschuk works on with her students already qualified under the standards of a MakerMinded project.

In the end the school earned second place out of over 100 participating schools across the state.

Congratulations to Mrs. Doerschuk AMS students- you are learning things that will help you compete school, life and your career someday.
