9th Graders and Parents
Below is all the information you'll need to make sure you're ready for Freshman Orientation on Monday, August 24.
A DAY STUDENTS (Last Name A-K):
A Day Students will attend orientation from 8:00 - 11:00 AM.
Breakfast will be available in the cafeteria at 7:30 AM. For breakfast, enter through Door 3. You will stay in the cafeteria until we're ready to take you to the gym. If you are not planning on eating breakfast, please enter Door 1 and head to the gym when you arrive.
Lunch will be available from 11:00 - 11:25 AM. You will leave through Door 3 (cafeteria) if you are planning on having lunch. You will also be given breakfast and lunch to take home for Tuesday, since it is a B Day. If you are not planning on eating lunch, you will leave through Door 1 at 11:00.
B DAY STUDENTS (Last Name L-Z):
B Day Students will attend orientation from 12:00 - 3:00 PM.
Lunch will be available from 11:35 - 12:00, so come early to Door 3 (the cafeteria door) if you'd like lunch. If you are not planning on having lunch, enter through Door 1 and go to the gym by 12:00 PM.
ALL IN-SCHOOL STUDENTS:
To limit the number of people in the building, Freshman Orientation is for students only. Masks will be required to be worn by all staff and students. Parents: Please check your student for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and take their temperature, just as you would for a normal school day. Any student that is not feeling well or has a fever should stay home.
You will receive your iPad as a part of orientation. You must turn in your Chromebook, $10 iPad fee, and fill out Final Forms to receive your iPad. Fill out your Final Forms before you arrive for orientation. During orientation, you will be able to take a tour of the building, go through your schedule, find your classrooms, meet your teachers, set up your iPad, and hear from guidance counselors and AHS juniors and seniors about what it's like to be a student at AHS.
There will be a video for parents of Freshmen made available as a part of the Virtual Open House during the evening of August 24th.
DIGITAL STUDENTS:
You will not attend orientation. However, your iPads and Acellus information will be available for pickup in the lobby from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. You must turn in your Chromebook, $10 iPad fee, and fill out Final Forms to receive your iPad. Fill out Final Forms before you arrive to get your iPad.
