Students at Alliance Middle School took part in the very first Career Cafe this week! The Career Cafes allow students at Alliance Middle School and Alliance High School to learn about different career fields from guest speakers.
This week, Renato Camacho visited to talk to the students about his position as the CEO and President of the Akron-Canton Airport. The students learned that an airport is like a small city and holds many of the same job opportunities. Airports need lawyers, engineers, maintenance staff and many more to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Alliance Middle School collected over 700 books that will be donated to the ACS school libraries, children's hospitals and shelters! AMS would like to thank the Builder’s Club students and Lisa Buehman, the AMS librarian, for helping sort through the books. #RepthatA #CaringCitizens

The students and staff at Alliance Middle School had the opportunity to hear Markus McFolling speak today! Markus is the founder of REACH1, which stands for Reconciling Every Abandoned Child Home.
Throughout his life, he has faced adversity in many forms. He travels to schools to tell his life story and to show students that they can overcome adversity and that they are loved and needed.
His story is an inspirational one and ACS families and community members have the chance to hear from Markus tonight at 7 pm at Alliance Middle School. This presentation is free and open to all who wish to attend! #RepthatA

1. She is a Marlington High School graduate. She attended college at Mount Union and Walsh University.
2. This is her 4th year as a School Counselor, but her 1st year in middle school! She was a high school counselor previously.
3. She is a boy mama! Weston is 2.5 years old and Scout is 10 months old.
4. She loves going to concerts and already has 4 planned for this year!
5. Her favorite food is chips and salsa and tacos!

5. One her her favorite parts about family vacations are stopping at rest areas with her husband and three kids to play frisbee and tag.

1. She has a Yorkshire Terrier named Sweetie who is sometimes not so sweet. She likes to "steal" things within her reach.
2. She is a proud graduate of the University of Mount Union. Go Raiders!
3. This is her first year as a full-time school counselor at Alliance City Schools. However, she has worked at ACS in the past as a substitute teacher, substitute counselor and school-based mental health counselor.
4. Her mother was a Spanish teacher at AHS for 27 years and came out of retirement this year to teach Spanish at AMS.
5. She is enjoying her time getting to know the staff, students and families at AMS!

The 8th grade students visited the AHS Career & Tech programs last week! They had the chance to tour each programs and see the opportunities available to them when they reach high school.
Almost all of the CTE programs at AHS have an intro course for students to take their freshmen or sophomore years to help them find a program they are interested in and passionate about. The 8th graders will have a chance to sign up for the intro courses when they schedule for their freshmen year! #RepthatA
