✈ Perry Mann ✈
Position: 7th Grade Social Studies Teacher
School: Alliance Middle School
Graduation Year: 1997
Years at ACS: 9
Favorite Memory:
"There are so many great memories that come to mind when I think back to my time in Alliance, but they all revolve around acceptance. I think what was so amazing about Alliance and why I'm so excited to have the opportunity to teach here is that I always felt accepted and supported by everyone, even when I wasn't at my best."
Influential Staff Member:
"My influential staff members were:
Mr. Zelasko: His excitement in teaching history was infectious, and you may not have entered the class ready to learn, but he quickly caught your attention and drew you into the lesson.
Mr. Ballor: His breadth of knowledge, passion for learning, and willingness to meet you where you were to help move you forward still inspires me every day.
Ms. Ailes: When I talk about Ms. Ailes, it always comes back to joy. Whenever you were around her, she made you smile. No matter how disappointing your last Spanish grade was, she made you feel like success was still possible, and she believed in you."
Choosing to work for ACS:
"I chose to work for Alliance because I've always felt a strong connection with the community and wanted to have the opportunity to give back a small amount of what was provided to me."
Importance of giving back:
"As a historian, I passionately believe that we can only move forward by studying and honoring our past. My past is deeply rooted in this community and I feel that Alliance has a depth that is often overlooked. No matter the period or the situation the people of Alliance have never been afraid to dig deep and do what's right. Not for themselves but for those around them. We are a community that lifts up everyone present and I am proud to have the opportunity to return that favor and help support the same community that supported me for so many years."
Mr. Mann’s passion for history and his love for this community shine through in everything he does, and we are lucky to have him back helping the next generation of Aviators grow. 🩵❤️ #RepthatA

"I loved the musicals we did at AHS. They were always the best!"
Influential Staff Member:
"Ms. Sally Ailes was such a wonderful person and had a passion for the Spanish language and education in general. She made learning fun and challenging."
Choosing to work for ACS:
"I want the students to know that people in their community can be and are successful! That being raised in a low-income family doesn't determine your value or your chance to be successful."
Importance of giving back:
"It's important to me to invest in the community that was so important to my education and upbringing. I had so many wonderful teachers and I hope to be that same person for someone else."
Ms. Buehman's story is a reminder that every student deserves someone who believes in them, and she is proud to be that person for our Aviators. 🩵❤️ #RepthatA

"I'm thankful to be an Aviator because it allows me to work with amazing students and staff every day, as well as be close to home so that I can be involved with my family and my kids’ sports. I used to drive almost an hour each way to work and working 7 minutes from home is a huge blessing!!" ❤️ #RepthatA

Choosing to work for ACS:
"I've worked for Alliance Police Department in the patrol division for 10 years. When they decided to expand the SRO program, I jumped at the chance because I thought I could make a bigger difference in the community from there. I love building trust and relationships with the kids in hopes of showing them that we are people like everyone else."
Importance of giving back:
"Serving in the same community where I grew up allows me to give back to the people and places that helped shape who I am. I feel a responsibility to make sure students here feel supported, safe, and proud of their school, just like I did."
